Portlethen Debut for U16 Girls

This weekend sees our U16 Girls make an historic entry into the U16 National League. The U16s have competed previously but the games have usually taken place centrally either in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This year however games will take place either at home or away. Thanks go to the previous team who made it to the semi final stage and hence this year’s squad are seeded and will therefore have two games in Aberdeen.

First up will be Western Wildcats this Sunday at Portlethen, sadly due to Aberdeen Sports Village being out of action we are playing this game at Portlethen Academy. Western Wildcats are always a strong outfit to play against but hopefully the home advantage will provide our girls with a little boost and a strong support.

Captain of the squad Ava Airnes said the girls are all keen and eager to put on a good show for their fans. “We will be up for this and hoping we can produce a surprise win in the North East’s first home National U16 game’. Next up will be an away tie in Gullane during November and a final group game against Grange sometime before March hopefully at Aberdeen Sports Village.

The pitch is open at 1pm and we are looking to push back at 1.30pm. Please come along and cheer on the girls of the future.
